Erika Aguirre has 20 years of nursing experience and is a board certified Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Health and Medical/Surgical Nursing. She earned her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Nursing from New Mexico State University. Erika is an expert in Medical-Surgical Nursing and has spent 10 years teaching the standards of care in Medical-Surgical Nursing in a number of college nursing programs. Her background also includes Medical Oncology, Infection Control, Employee Health and Interventional Radiology. Her experiences range from staff nurse positions to being an advanced practice nursing provider for anticoagulation. In the hospital, she has been responsible for implementing, educating and regulating nurse competencies. She has also held administrative roles on Policy & Procedure Committees, Quality Assurance Committees, as well as Joint Commission Task Forces. Her extensive training for legal nurse consulting was accomplished through the renowned Vickie Millazo Institute. Erika is a member of the American Nurses Association, Texas Nurses Association and National Alliance for Certified Legal Nurse Consultants.
Erika is married to an officer in the United States Air Force. As an active member in the military community, she has learned the importance of trust and integrity. She has also learned how to get any job done through perseverance and flexibility. She maximizes her competitive spirit through diligence and plain hard work. Erika has a genuine enthusiasm and deep commitment to the nursing profession. She has a natural ability to be a team player and establish great rapport with those who surround her.
